Have you ever wondered what the light intensity at your desk, living room or in the office is? The free app “LuxMeter” provides various standards for orientation purposes and performs an evaluation, turning the iPhone into a light meter.

“LuxMeter” does not replace any professional tools used for photography, but it is completely sufficient for private use.

The app uses the iPhone camera in order to “get an idea” of the surroundings. It is able to take measurements continuously, take a single reading or set a timer. The result of the measurements is being displayed in Lux. All data may be combined with a comment and saved.

Conclusion:
This is something different entirely: the iPhone as a light meter. A little strange, but it works!
