You are in charge of a small Stone Age boy that needs to be guided through a huge, mysterious nature setting. In 30 levels and three worlds coins and medals have to be collected. In each level a maximum of three stars is available. However, you need to deliver a nearly flawless game in order to obtain the stars.

The game offers you an incredible number of movement options: crouch, jump with and without a spring board, fly, climb up a rope, or climb up and down walls. But be careful and try to avoid obstacles such as swinging hammers, falling rocks, poisonous plants or fire balls. You control the game with two buttons and swiping motions.

Since you only have three lives it is important to avoid encounters with enemies – especially in the beginning when you don’t have much experience yet.

Conclusion:
The 3D Platform Runner features terrific graphics and lots of continuous action. The game is definitely challenging, as the difficulty increases quite rapidly. The best part: you only pay the download price.

This diary app lets you capture reminders, appointments and ideas. Relevant to each entry you are also able to add an image. Each entry can be provided with a tag and later on located via a full text search. Additional features include a calendar view, GPS, weather and temperature data as well as multi markdown support.

Via iCloud or Dropbox you may sync the app between iPad, iPhone and Mac; export PDFs, tweet or be reminded of appointments.

Conclusion:
The app works intuitive and features a clear and appealing look, but only offers a minimum of security. It can be opened with a password and no additional encryptions are available.

iMovie is not for everyone. The range of functions is large, but many users are not comfortable utilizing the app to edit their movies. Sometimes all it takes is a small application to give friends and family an impression of the last vacation or a recent party.

This is where Quiki comes in handy. After a one-time registration via Facebook or e-mail the app accesses your photo albums. It automatically generates a small, very presentable movie, relevant to a certain topic. You may even share it with others. You also have the option to preview the movie, change the captions and choose from a selection of songs.

Conclusion:
This is not a complex application, but a nice tool to quickly create a respectable presentation – without having to spend hours on it.

This is a note taking app that not only students swear by. You are able to take handwritten notes on the iPad, annotate and comment on PDFs, or decorate photos.

When using the zoom function a section of the document is being shown on the display – and you may write or draw on it. When you are finished, the section will be reduced again and inserted back into the document. We would recommend that you use an iPad stylus to write with, since handwritten notes are often times difficult to read. The app features a variety of functions, including: colored pens with a choice of color and widths, eraser, approximately 30 different types of note paper, geometric shapes to be used for diagrams; and, naturally, the option to input text by using a keyboard.

You may export documents in PDF format – preferably by e-mail, store them in folders of your choice, print them or share them via Evernote, Dropbox, Twitter or Facebook.

Conclusion:
The idea of using the iPad as a notepad has been implemented very well. However, the app is not very user-friendly: despite a well arranged structure a lot of functions only become clear after a thorough reading of the manual, or via time consuming trial and error. Also, no pages may be added to PDFs.
